What is Campus Action For Animals (CAA)?

We are a student non-profit organization at the University of Central Florida. The organization deals
with issues related to animals and animal protection. The group has three main goals:
  1. intercede directly or indirectly on behalf of all living things threatened by human activity.
  2. to promote the humane treatment of animals and their environments through education.
  3. to encourage communication and cooperation between all groups interested in animal and environmental welfare.

How did CAA start?

CAA was formed in February of 1982 as an alternative to the University's plan to trap and destroy
the cats on campus. The problem began when dormitory students abandoned their cats to avoid
paying a no-pets policy fine. Concern and compassion for the strays inspired students to form CAA
and begin the Cat Rescue and Relocation program.
