Policy Title: Definition of Brevard Student

Policy: A student is considered a Brevard student so long as fifty percent or greater of his or her UCF hours have been com pleated at the Brevard Campus.

Title: Defense Posting

Policy: A student shall post notice of his or her defense both at the Brevard Campus in the designated area(s) and at the Orlando Campus as otherwise required.

Title: Signatures

Policy: In order to facilitate area campus student participation, the Brevard honors program coordinator may sign all forms on behalf of the honors director, with the exception of the final thesis approval form.

Policy Title: Part-Time Status of Students

Policy: recognizing that the student population at the Brevard Campus is largely nontraditional and often part-time, the requirement of full-time status is amended to allow part-time students to participate in the honors program. Part-time students are eligible if they are enrolled in a minimum of six hours as they participate in the honors program and they have completed a minimum of six hours in the two semesters preceding their entry into the honors program.

Title: Committee Structure

Policy: If academically sound, a Brevard based honors thesis committee may include faculty members from three different departments. The chair must, however, be from the student's major department and at least one member of the committee shall be a full-time faculty member at the Brevard Campus. One committee member may be adjunct faculty.
