Solar System

Mars

Image of Mars taken June of 2008. The gibbous disk show little detail except for it pinkish/brown color.

The fifth planet and largest from the sun, Jupiter is the giant gas giant of our solar system. With its moons and Great Red Spot makes it both exciting to see and to image. The image of Jupiter was taken with a Meade imager of low cost...in fact it was so cheap I forgot how much it cost...under $100 dollars. Not bad for someone on a budget. The images were stacked using Registax processing software.

Saturn

The six and second largest planet from the sun, Saturn with its rings systems makes its one of the most exciting planets to image. This image was taken with a Meade DS1 imager in March of 2008. The exposure time was 1/30th of second. The images were stacked using Registax processing software.

Uranus

Image of Uranus taken 10-31-09. Notice the bluish/white color as this is reflective of the methane gas that makes up a good part of the atmosphere.
