My collection of Meade's (12 & 16 inch) scopes. The 16 inch even with all its mass production problems (initial) is a great scope. Over the last few years I have upgraded focusers, laser pointers and a few other items to help get better response and efficiency out of it. The 12 inch LX200 is also a great scope with its "GoTo" technology. Some night's you just don't have the time to search out objects...pick the object and the just slew over. Its also helpfull when the nights get long...again punch in the object and thier you are. Hunched over a scope after 3 hours or so can get tough. Having grown up old school...star hopping my way through the sky is still my preference...nothing like spending time preparing and then with a pair of binoculars and charts to hunt down and objects...still a trill! |

Meade Starfinder 16 inch. This scope is great for just pushing out the door for some quick sky time. Though it may be primitive...it's a heck of a lot of fun for just surfing the skies!! |
