The family lived in Liberty until the moved to Drew, Mississippi in 1916, the the family moved from Drew to Tunica, Mississippi. Mingo, Sr. moved to Gobler, Missouri in the early 1950's. Mingo, Sr. was known as a dedicated, hard-working, family man who taught his children to be god-loving and god-fearing and that to be a christian was one of the greatest things in life. Mingo, Sr. lived to be 98 years old when he died on December 30, 1980. The Mingo and Mary Spears Sr. family comprises a large number of family members:
