TRAVELING SESSION

TITLE: Sloper To Period Style: Seeing Style Lines And Proportion

DESCRIPTION:
This is a lecture/demonstration starting with interpretation of style line and proportion of a designer’s rendering in relation to the actual size of the person wearing the design and determining what principles of pattern manipulation are appropriate for creating the pattern for the specific design. The demonstration will be in full scale. The participants can work along in half scale. They will be provided with half scale slopers. This will allow for more participants at each table.

Time: 4-hour demonstration class, 8-hour hands-on class.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
The space should include tables large enough for drafting patterns in half scale and full scale with a surface that can be pinned into with pushpins.
