TRAVELING SESSION
TITLE: Elizabethan Men’s Wear
DESCRIPTION:
This information-filled, fast-paced one-day lecture/demo session covers patterning and construction techniques for making Elizabethan men’s peascod doublets, bombasted trunkhose and ruffs. Participants will receive detailed patterning diagrams and concrete construction methods for these complex costumes.
PRESENTER BRINGS:
At least two doublets, two trunkhose and two ruffs as examples
Sample patterns showing drafting progression
Partially built items to show construction progression
Handout--sent to host organization ahead of time for printing

FACILITY NEEDS:
One large, well-lit room (a lecture/classroom or costume shop)
A large white board
Two 3’x 8’ or 4’ x 8’ tables (cutting-style tables or classroom-style)
Two or three male dress forms; size 36, 38 and 40
Desks or tables & chairs for participants to sit at and take notes
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Markers and erasers for the white board.
Masking tape.
Printed handouts (approx 20 pages) for each participant
OTHER EXPENSES:
Shipping of one large box of supplies, R/T.
