What Involvement Could Your Unit Have?

I don't really want to predetermine this, because at this point I'm more interested in hearing from people across campus as to what their vision of a humanities center might be. I have some ideas on how the library might be involved, and they come from other humanities centers around the world. Several of them cooperate with libraries, cooperatively finding money for acquiring and building archives, working together on resources for interdisciplinary research, finding ways to communicate ideas from the humanities to the university community.

But as I say, the real need right now is for ideas. Specifically, I need the following:

• Ideas for projects that would work in a humanities center.
  
  
• Ideas about who else on campus might support a center of this sort.
  
  
• Ideas about funding and other kinds of material support.
